I'm extremely embarrassed because this will be my first post in a week and a bit...heres my LAME excuse; I was very very busy. Yeah that sucked. Though I would love to thank all you lovely pretty people who commented and followed lately...hi5s all round! So I was looking around at other blogs and the fabulous Beth of NiftyThrifty (methinks you can find her in my followers list?) said something along the lines of the American Urban Outfitters being better than the European. So I put on my detective costume and went to investigate ... Beth is so right! I much much prefer the stuff on the North American website and they have plentiful pieces in VELVET and GOLD. How did they know my weaknesses?!

The best bit is they have lots of clothing inspired by 'Where the Wild Things Are' which is a movie that I am extra phsyched to see because the boy Max in it has a monster suit (*jealous*) and the hairy guys look like the Gruffalo. These are the nicest:



< Well its pretty basic but it gets my message across. My message being THIS MOVIE LOOKS EPIC. $28



< This one might require a little "No it's not just a triangular pattern it's supposed to be FUR". Max eat your heart out. Also $28 but you could probably achieve the same effect with a big white cotton tee and a magic marker.



< Woot woot it's the gruffalo guy! And if you look at it from a distance with squinty eyes it looks like theyre having a big hairy rave! I love at $14.99

They also have extended awesomeness with 'Where the wild things are' figurines (ahem), soundtrack, story books, slippers, cushions and um shadow puppets. Wahey! Thank you Beth!

That's not my name

Look what I just found in Topshop! New in! Tehe I feel like I've just eaten a couple of Wham bars and a two litre bottle of Spar brand cola ... this is what happiness feels like!





It's a NAME jumper! Phwoargh! Designed by Emma Cook - £50 (pullover) and £70 (cardigan). Now if you're the forgetful sort *cough me cough* this kind of thing will be extremely handy for remembering names of people you were introduced to but didn't really pay attention to the important stuff they were saying like um their name. I think I prefer the red one because I'm more of a cardigan person and red is christmassy :)

I'm going on a shopping BONANZA (isn't that a fabulous word I should use it more often) next weekend cause lately I have been saving and saving which means I have been going around giving everyone on Grafton street with fresh Awear bags the evil eye because I think I have shopping withdrawals and I am at that stage where I growl at everything in my wardrobe because I have worn it a million and one-more-for-good-luck times. I can't wait!

I ADORE GOLD. It is my favourite colour. Yeah it's out there, yeah it's occasionally tacky, but I love it. The only problem with it is that it is so easy to wander off from your cosy spot in the 'lovely tasteful and exquisite gold shizzle' into the well-disguised 'tasteless gold tat' spot. I guess some of my gold ensembles are hit and miss, but because I'm only fifteen, I can blame it on my youthful ignorance or whatever. Though I would never, ever wear a full gold suit.



Man, Elvis looks so cool. Okay, maybe I would wear that...

So if you detest gold with every fibre of your very being LOOK AWAY NOW because I have gathered all my favourite gold stuff on this very post;



< Ahem some people may say that this Monsoon dress is borderline tacky but those people are krr-azy 'cause I love the statementy qualities of it. It is guaranteed to do two things - to turn heads at parties and to blind motorists. If you can pull off this dress (that means no streaky fake tan and dodgy hair extensions) I salute you. Can't you totally imagine a sunkissed goddess sitting on a cloud with a big stick ordering this online for £225?



< This is much more my kind of dress - I can imagine strolling into all the 2009 Christmas parties in it. The only flaw is that while I wear it, it will be the only thing I will be able to talk about..."The weather? That reminds me of the dress I am wearing...you know it was €45 in Awear. Oh, I already told you that? Twice?"



< Warehouse. Ninety seven Euro. So cute! However it is rather short so I'd have to do some leg-toning exercises for my thighs to be in peak condition before zipping it up...



< Oooh I want this skirt so bad. Maybe it's just the model wearing it, but it looks so flattering. When one day I work in an office, this will totally be my 'casual friday' outfit. £36 in American Apparel.



< It's decided - tomorrow afternoon I am getting on the bus to town and begging the salewoman in American Apparel for a job. They stock so much of my favourite colour! Isn't this top so freaking awesome?! £44...I MUST HAVE IT.

Sleigh bells ring...

I absolutely 100% ADORE Christmas. I am most definitely one of those annoying people who get all hyperactive when Argos plays their Christmas ad in September and I totally get a tingly feeling in my tummy when I see men with beards that look like Santa (don't worry at fifteen I have figured out that he is fictional). So this year I have an aim. Not my usual aims like the one I made last year to learn the entire thriller dance routine, no an extra special aim. To get a Christmas jumper! Here's an example of the kind I would like:



I AM INSANELY JEALOUS OF COLIN FIRTH RIGHT NOW. Thing is, it’s really really difficult to find the perfect Christmas jumper complete with bobbly reindeer and snow flakes. Either I take up knitting or I burgle Colin Firth's place I suppose.

I officially love velvet.

Ok so it's been a day since my last post and just to clarify, I do have a little bit of a life, but I'm sure that other bloggers will agree that once you start posting it's really really difficult to stop. Kind of like a meth addiction I guess? So my new object of affection is...wait for it...velvet! I was watching an episode of Friends (the once where Rachel and Monica's heater breaks and they're having a New years party...crazy stuff!) and Joey dated a lady that wore this amazing blue velvet wraparound dress with an elaborate silver brooch that looked the absolute shizzle. Of course she was about a size six with flaming red hair but they’re just minor technicalities.

A few shops this season have plenty of velvet goodies to offer while others are, for want of a better word, pretty crap. Topshop is in the lead today (where did it all go wrong Miss Selfridge?!) and I would actually contemplate getting leaving school and taking up full time work to afford some of the stuff...



< Doesn't this make you feel all happy and giddy inside? It's fairly simple but it is such a flattering shape and to be honest a lot more wearable then most of the leotards I usually get excited about. However not much of a bargain at £60 in Topshop. Should I? Shouldn't I? Just imagine teaming it with this Egyptian style necklace I saw for €5 in Penneys... it's decided. I totally should.




< It's scarlet. It's velvet. It's a leotard. This is like Christmas '09 and my sixteenth birthday ALL ROLLED INTO ONE! At £28 in Topshop I am tempted to take up ballet just so I can do pirouettes on stage in this awesome little leotard. I love.



< I feel so naughty 'cause this is my THIRD Topshop choice but I think it can be agreed that this jacket deserved a mention. It's a kind of slashed velvet but unfortunately the picture makes it look like it’s made of cut up bin bags. £150 so if you are in line to a really big inheritance or are the heir to the Belgian throne, go wild with this jacket.




< Who knew such a treasure lay in the WebPages of Asos.com?! A 'Beyond the Valley' piece (who have also done some crazy ass knits) that has stolen my heart and wrapped it up in it gold and velvet goodness. £95 is pretty steep, but those lions are FIERCE.






< This dress is just so darn pretty. I'm a sucker for heart shaped necklines so for me this dress can do no wrong. And at £45.00 for something I can imagine myself pulling on for every second Christmas social gathering, so it's not bad eh?



< I can totally imagine Michelle Obama wearing this number...it's so classy and elegant and VIP. I'd imagine if I was wearing it my chances of getting into wine tastings and art auctions would be tripled. It's £60 in Monsoon and I got to say that it looks worth every penny.





< The decision is all yours here with this Carin Wester dresses. Personally I like the yellow one best because Big Bird was always my favourite Sesame street character. I just adore the details on the arms but am slightly deterred by the fact that they’re £415 in Urban Outfitters which is money that I think I will leave in my college fund. However, I shed a tear for what could have been.



< Ok, this is really mean of me. Whoever is reading this is probably tearing their hair out in fury over my overly enthusiastic love for Topshop clothing. I'm sorry, and I hope your hair grows back. I couldn't help myself though; cause its dusty pink velvet. I repeat, DUSTY PINK VELVET. That is explanation enough. (£28)



No doubt I will get over velvet soon enough, but for now I recommend you wear it head to toe, bring it into every conversation you have and make a minature non-creepy shrine to the wonder that is velvet at the back of your wardrobe.

Let's give it up for Levi

Everyone I know has denim in their wardrobe. From my 87 year old great aunt to Mr. Obama, they have at least once in their lives pulled on a pair of blue jeans. Lately I have had a lovely warm corner in my heart for all things denim and luckily, so have all the high street shops. I did a little online tour and sourced all my favourite denim bits and bobs about.



< First up is this AWESOME little body leotard from Miss Selfridge (which is a shop that has really come through for me this season). At £35 (about €50?) it is edging towards expensive but I mean if only to bring a smile to your face every time you pull it out of your drawer it would be worth it. The Miss Selfridge website pairs it with a fugly pair of black trousers but I personally would team it with a red cape and call myself wonder woman...




< Another Miss Selfridge item (it's becoming an obsession) but not one of my favourites. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that leopard print has been overdone lately but I'll make one tiny exception for this dress it has a quirky neckline and I think underneath all my leopard print distaste I have a secret love for it. On sale for £20 - reduced from £40 - so whaddaya think?




< These are a Topshop find which I love because of their high-waistedness. Also the studs are so chic...I really must so an entire post on things with those super cute ball studs. At £35 pounds I think they're worth it but unless you’re prepared to wear tights with them I suggest you emigrate to somewhere like Spain.



< If I went to an American high school and I did gym, this would so be my gym bag. Its £26 in American Apparel, which is a shop I love, despite its crazy ass prices and the fact that the majority of the clothes there are made of Lycra. Finger's crossed Penneys will copy this design...



< As much as I love denim leotards and gym bags, you can't beat a pair of blue jeans. I usually buy a really good pair, wear them until they are threadbare with ragged ends and permanent MiWadi stains and then turn them into shorts. DIY style right there! These jeans are €60.00 in Warehouse and tick most of the boxes for me which is really good fortune 'cause I am way picky over what jeans I wear, resulting in hours of trying-on sessions in River island's changing rooms.



< I thought I'd finish it up with another sneaky Miss Selfridge choice (obsession!!) but this one is quite casual and optimises an 80's flashback. It would be really cute with a bodycon dress beneath but I have to you against wearing it with a pair of jeans in the exact same wash - you wouldn't believe how many do it. Blech.

Whoa eurodisney flashback...

When I was about five I went to Euro Disney and one of the things I can remember was taking this boat ride through one attraction. It was basically countless rubber dolls dressed like natives of the countries of the world all sang 'it's a small small world' incessantly while I sat there in horror. I am still reeling after seeing the Irish ones in leprechaun costumes doing a jig while smoking pipes.



< This Peter Jensen mini skirt totally reminds me of that ride. It's kind of cool in a quirky way but at £157 (!!) in Urban Outfitters I can't exactly see myself rummaging down the side of the sofa for spare change to buy it. However I think it must be said that little Eskimo on the front is totally sweet!
